packing 101: gender expression & affirmation

packing 101: gender expression & affirmation

Packing is wearing a phallic object in the front of the pants or underwear to give the appearance of having a bulge

LGBTQIA+ individuals, drag artists, cisgender and heterosexual persons engage in packing for several reasons. Many people use these life-changing techniques for gender expression, but they can also be used for gender affirmation.

Packers may take the form of only a penis shape or may also incorporate testicles.

Soft Packing

Refers to packing with a device that cannot be used for sexual penetration, homemade packers are also an option to start, some of them consist of rolled-up socks or condoms filled with liquids or gel. There are many commercially available packers, which more realistically emulate the size, shape, color and texture of the male genitals. All soft packers are made of soft, flexible material and simulate a flaccid penis.

A few packers can be used as stand to pee devices.
These incorporate a receptacle that is inserted under and against the wearer's urethra. The packer has a tube from the receptacle to the tip, which allows the wearer to urinate through it.

Packing hard

Refers to packing with a device that may be used for sexual penetration. Such packers are made of firmer material like silicone and are flexible enough for packing but firm enough for sexual penetration, allowing the packer to simulate a flaccid position, as well as a very firm, erect position. Have you ever heard of the expression "pack and play"?

But why packing?

Transgender people pack for different reasons. It’s important to know that some transgender men don’t pack at all—some find it uncomfortable, inconvenient, or unnecessary. Some trans people pack to create a bulge for safety reasons while others may pack for aesthetics. Some people pack only when wearing tight-fitting pants. Some transgender men may feel compelled to pack due to dysphoria or just to feel more at home in their bodies. Packing can help create gender euphoria.

For some transgender and/or nonbinary people, their packer isn’t just a thing to take on and off, but rather an extension of their own body. No matter the reason or the occasions when you pack, packing is a personal choice and whether or not you decide to do it, is entirely up to you and has no impact on the validity of your gender identity.

Let us bloom, sexual expression is part of our identity 🌈✨
